I've got a copy numbered 78 cover is in excellent shape. The vinyl is in near mint shape. Thought I'd hit up this board before I went the Ebay route.
Thanks, Chuck
I'll post some pics later.

That listing sounds like an opportunist trying to score on behalf of Amrep's birthday.

And I'm broke as shit.....sorry all if everyone thinks it's an outrageous price but the extra cake would be nice. This is the first time in my life I'm having to part with some of my dearest record collection. They are MY RECORDS.. of course they are going to come with a price tag as I really don't want to lose them, but everything has a price.

It has sold for that much before, but I'm afraid these days a price like that would be hard to reach! I paid in excess of $250 for mine, back in the mid 90s. I've seen it at a recent record show for, I think, $125?? If You're the original owner, that means You were into this way before most of us here! You should hold on to it. That shit is sentimental, man!!
Speaking of old-school AMREP followers, some years back I got to talking to some guy at yet another record show here in Chicago. Seeing how he had a bunch of AMREP singles for sale, we sorta started talking about the label, Helmet, Halo Of Flies and he goes "You really like AMREP??". Quickly I responded: "Dude, that's my thing!". He rolls up his sleeve and there he got the DGF Avenging Reptile tatooed on his biceps!! "Haze sent me a free Dope single for this" he told me! Never ran into him again, but that was cool as hell!

Really surprised that it's fetching top dollar when seller has zero feedback.

Yeah I'm the OG owner, I bought it at the student union book store on the campus at Mankato State when it came out. Times are tough right now so I could use the cash. The eBay business is not looking so lucrative.... sucks. I had my first sale then the guys girlfriend sends me a message saying he was in a car accident and can't afford to pay. Huh, what to do, I can't be a prick and get all pissy with the guy if he's actually hurt from something like that. Oh well. Anyways it's only got about a day and a half left with 10 watchers. If I get the $375 I'll be stoked, if not oh well. Oh, I also put up an original AMREP copy of Helmets - Strap It On if anyone's interested. I price my records at Popsike then add a few bucks and hope for the best.

Alija is right about RR going for that much in the past, but a lot of collectibles are unfortuantely not fetching what we feel they should, or what they used to. A word of advice, try a lower opening bid, or none at all. It's a leap of faith, but many times you'll end up selling it for way more, or at least selling it period. Zero feedback is also a tough one to overcome, especially with high dollar items, but everybody's got to start somewhere...

Just have a low opening with a reserve price, if you do go the lower opening bid route.
