The Butcher Shop, Thug, Bloodloss, Primevals, Venom P Stinger, Salmander Jim... If possible track down the Black Eye Record comps 'Waste Sausage' and 'Leather Donut'...Was lucky enough to be in a band that supported feedtime when they reformed and put out 'Billy'...brutal.

There are just as many good aussie noisey bands as ever just not the support for it.
Look up these bands:
Fangs of..., Fire Witch, Inappropriate Tough Guy behaviour, Nunchukka Superfly (blackie/ray from Hard Ons), Hard Ons (their new stuff is way heavier), Dad They Broke Me: all these bands have current releases on WeEmptyRooms.
wOg (Ray hard Ons, Robbie Phlegm), Die On Planes (not sure about releases though, great live!), The Stabs, Useless Children, Mongrel Country.....will post more when i think of it.

There isn't much noise going down here ( Australia ) in the same vein as King Snake Roost and Grong Grong unfortunatley... Powder Monkeys, Beast of Bourbon and Bored! were great but are rock without the noise and yeah Tim (bass player) did 0'D...Hard Ons= pop punk, America has plenty of these bands... Phelgem= were beyond fuck up check them... Try and get the Bloodloss Lp "the truth comes marching in" and the Butcher Shop have a reissue out now and get anything Lubricated Goat did...check out Black.loop as well, worth it...Charles Tolnay guitarist from King Snake Roost and Grong Grong was in Tumor Circus with Jello and Steel Pole Bath Tub, I saw Grong Grong in Australia recently and he is still the most unique guitarist...it's him and Greg Ginn.

Not to sound like a tosser or argumentative but calling Hard Ons Pop punk is just quite an inaccurate a description of their current sound. There is a lot of metal and thrash in there even some prog but if you want NOISIER listen to Nunchukka Superfly which is the same songwriter and same guitar/vox and Bass player.
Oh another good one is True Radical Miracle. I was not around "back in the day" (the 80's) but i think there is just as much out there now, in fact probably a lot more being released it just doesn't get the attention.
Unbelievably Bad Magazine is a really good place to read up on the Aussie scene as they do good articles that go into some depth.
Some choice cuts:
Fire Witch - "japan" 10" (wantage USA) Dad They Broke me - "ROT" (WeEmptyRooms) Pure Evil Trio - dunno the name but the only CD which is an earlier LP plus a later album in one. Truth From Facts (again not sure than name but out on Tenzenmen)

I was just hipped to NO ANCHOR, down under drone stomp noise goodness. Don't know if they have tunes online, but their 3 CD releases are worth searching out.

That 'The Boredoms' post there is pretty amazing. Never seen that many drummers before.

If you dig on the one drums/two basses era of No Anchor check out Fire Witch or if you dig the one bass/one drummer era check out Inappropriate Tough Guy Behaviour.

This King Snake Roost stuff is pretty sweet.
Also, someone mentioned My Disco. Saw them with Young Widows a while ago and they bored the piss out of a me. A friend who spent a month in Australia came back with their album and I loved it, but live it just wasn't interesting. It was sort of disappointing because I had been really looking forward to it.
What about Birthday Party? No one? No one mentioned the Birthday Party. C'mon...

The Birthday Party are up there with The Stooges, in that it's just taken for granted they are as vital as air or water, so they need not be mentioned as it's a given (ha-ha).
