All or most amrep LPs were manufactured in Germany before I got there in June 1993. Since the market for vinyl was limited it made sense to press, let's say 1.000 LPs fo a debut and split them between Europe and the US.  After I arrived, it was normal procedure to do X amount of LPs on colored vinyl to help promote European tours, Amrep Stateside would've got a small amount of them and the rest evaporated on tour. I remember the Willpower LP on blue vinyl but for the life of me I can't remember what the pressing was or how many copies were blue or how many Orphan's tragedy were clear etc. Hazelmyerism has set in! In my office in BCN I have all my old invoices and stuff from Germany in boxes in a crawl space which is up high and dangerous to access. Maybe someday I'll move digs and open all that shit up again. That way I'll find out about pressings and tours for gigography purposes and pull out my t-shirt stash.

Hey, is there anyone out there who has a cassette copy of the Bastards demo tape "Dear Grandma, I hope You Die-Love Billy"? It has a green cover sketched in magic marker?

I had so much fun and not only were Am Rep fans among the friendliest live music folks I've ever come across, but the citizens of Minneapolis could not have been more hospitable. Grumpy's employees took good care of us, and the Old Style tall boys were much appreciated on a warm August day.

Got to Grumpy's late enough Friday night to know that I wasn't getting in, but still caught some UNSANE from outside. Arrived Saturday as the Melvin's departed, but no big deal. VAZ, White Drugs, and Gay Witch Abortion were all new revelations, putting out powerful, high energy sets despite the mid-day heat and spotty crowds. Once the Thrown-Ups got things going, it really felt like a bash. Today is The Day delivered a powerful set, and I was glad to finally catch them. Halo of Cow Bullies were a treat, and Shannon's disguise was hilarious. My girlfriend thought he was a homeless bum that got coaxed on stage in exchange for booze.

The highlight of the event was the God Bullies, my Am Rep gateway band. Seeing them with David Livingstone on guitar was reason enough for the whole trip. It was the mind-blowing show I had hoped for, but a few cuts off of Plastic Eye Miracle would have been the icing. Hammerhead, the band I consider the heaviest of the Am Hep heavies delivered a well needed wallop. Boss Hogg, a band I liked on vinyl, but mostly gave the benefit of the doubt live because of their PG/ Gibson Bros association blew me away. What an amazing band they have become, playing really old stuff I thought they might have grown out of long ago. Girl+ was the line up where they really found their groove, and they just kept getting better since. It's rare to see a band with such great chemistry and timing. Made plans on Sunday that could not be changed before finding out about the BBQ concert, but it looked like tons of fun.

Thanks to everyone who took the great shots and recorded the shows. The music came out sounding really good on the above videos.

Haze, thanks again for putting it all together.

That's a great pic with Grant Hart. It's just so difficult to look at him because he looks so fragile.
